This chapter contains additional evidence belying current notions with respect to the
temple’s location, such as where King Agrippa’s and the Hippodrome stood. In the Qumran
Copper Scroll, descriptions of hiding places for the temple treasures match the configuration of
the Gihon Spring water system. Descriptions also characterize this system as having caves and
hollows, deep and winding tunnels, and an abundant spring. Descriptions of total destruction
ignore the gargantuan “temple mount.” Descriptions of the temples built after the destruction
correspond with the southeastern hill, not the alleged temple mount.
