Chapter 6:
Additional Descriptions of Herod’s
and Subsequent Temples

This chapter contains additional evidence belying current notions with respect to the

temple’s location, such as where King Agrippa’s and the Hippodrome stood. In the Qumran

Copper Scroll, descriptions of hiding places for the temple treasures match the configuration of

the Gihon Spring water system. Descriptions also characterize this system as having caves and

hollows, deep and winding tunnels, and an abundant spring. Descriptions of total destruction

ignore the gargantuan “temple mount.” Descriptions of the temples built after the destruction

correspond with the southeastern hill, not the alleged temple mount.
